I’m a morning person, at the crack of dawn, I wake up and start my day before anyone in the house has a chance to whisper (or scream) a word. My morning self-care routine helps me rejuvenate and prepare for another busy day.
If you already have a morning routine that is exceptional! If you do not then there is no better time than the present to start.

Establishing a morning self-care routine
A key to establishing any habit is consistency! We can be consistent by repeating the self-care routine components daily but there is something more we can do too! Wake up at a consistent time. Many times people sleep in on the weekend and when Monday rolls around they struggle to get out of bed. Try to keep consistent with your wake-up times 7 days a week.
Did you know that it takes up to 30 days to create a new healthy habit? There really isn’t a magical number but if you consistently do the same thing everyday for 30 days your chances of successfully establishing the new healthy habit is much more reachable.

Since we are on the subject of time let’s discuss the time you wake up. If you feel rushed and flying around the house like a madwoman every morning then it would be extremely beneficial to wake up earlier so you can start your day in a calm mindset and not a rushed manner. Even 30 minutes can make a big difference!

Feed your mind and your stomach!
Starting your day with a healthy breakfast gives your mind and your body the fuel you need to get going and keep going strong. If you’re not normally a breakfast person start small with a piece of fruit or a bagel, every little bit helps.
Add Writing To Your Morning Self-Care Routine
One of my favourite things to do every morning is to write! If you’re a blogger/author you might find letting your thoughts flow first thing in the morning in solitude to be a pleasant wake-up.
However, you do not need to be a blogger or an author to practice this self-care tip. Grab a journal and your words flow. It’s a great practice to add 1-3 things that you are grateful for big or small you can check out my gratitude affirmation article for some inspirational ideas.
Morning Self-Care Routine Gratitude Habit
I touched on this a bit above but I want to reiterate it as an amazing way to bring some self-care into your morning every day. take time to notice the world around you and what you are grateful for, take note of them in your mind. Listen to the sound of the birds chirping or feel the touch of the sun on your face.
Gratitude is the perfect way to set your day off on a happy note. That mindset can help you get through even the toughest traffic jams on your trip into the office.
Skin Care Routine
Establishing a skin care routine is a great way to practice self-care in the morning. Feeling comfortable in our own skin helps us keep our confidence up. Giving ourselves some pampering before we begin our day is a perfect way to add self-care to our morning routine.

Review Your To-Do
Ever have those days where you forget everything you were supposed to do? We have all been there! A great way to keep your to-do’s fresh in your mind is to review them during your morning self-care routine. Choose one or two you can knock off your list if time permits for an extra boost to your productivity.
